The Baseline ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Email address — collected when you create an account, used solely for authentication and service-related communications.
Payment information — processed entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number or full payment details.
Subscription status — we store your subscription tier (free or paid) to control access to features.

2. How We Use Your Information

To authenticate you and manage your account
To process subscription payments through Stripe
To grant or restrict access to features based on your subscription
To send you sign-in codes when you request them

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate The Baseline:

Supabase — provides our database and authentication infrastructure. Your email address is stored securely through Supabase. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
Stripe — handles all payment processing. Stripe stores your payment details securely and in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information (email and subscription status) for as long as your account is active. If you wish to have your data deleted, contact us and we will remove your account and associated data within 30 days.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

The Baseline does not use tracking cookies. We use browser local storage (not cookies) to store your preferences such as timezone settings and dismissed prompts. Your authentication session is also stored in local storage by Supabase's authentication library so you stay signed in between visits. None of this data is sent to third parties or used for advertising.

6. Children's Privacy

The Baseline is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
